Your new role
In this temporary assignment, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Monitor, review, and report to the WHS Safety Operations Coordinator on effectiveness of Work Health and Safety Management Systems (WHSMS).
- Offer guidance and coaching to employees, managers, and supervisors on work health and safety matters, including supporting the effectiveness of safety circle meetings.
- Develop and conduct audits and interactions of the workplace to ensure safe work practices and compliance to the organisation's WHSMS
- Ensure that the provisions of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and organisations' WHSMS, SWMS, policies and procedures are adhered to within the work environment.
- Ensure staff adhere to safe work practices by conducting interactions, reviewing incidents, inspecting hazards, assessing risks, implementing corrective actions, and evaluating new employee inductions.
- Lead and advise on WHSMS implementation, incident investigations, and the development of WHS procedures to enhance hazard control and risk management.
- Monitor WHS data, legislative changes, and industry best practices to provide informed recommendations and improve WHSMS effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Work Health and Safety Certificate IV, &/or Diploma of WHS/OHS or equivalent level of expertise.
- Demonstrated the ability to scan the workplace environment, gather intelligence, conduct research & analysis and provide detailed reports on incident investigation, root cause analysis and recommendations.
- General Safety Induction (Construction White Card) CPCCOHS1001A.
- Current "C" Class Queensland Driver's Licence.
- WHS investigation (e.g. ICAM)
- Microsoft Office & exposure to Safety Management Systems which include Hazard Identification, Incident Management, Safe Work Observations & Risk Analysis/Management strategies
- Knowledge & exposure in - Confined Space, Working at Heights, Hot Works, Isolation, Tag & Lockout process, Emergency Management, Fire Safety, Traffic Management, Audit & Inspection
