Your new role
As a key member of the team, the responsibilities and duties of this role will include, but not be limited to:
- Compliance and Regulation: Ensure workplace compliance with health and safety laws and stay updated on legislative changes.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Control: Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified hazards.
Safety Inspections and Audits: Perform routine inspections and internal audits, reporting findings to management.
Policy Development: Develop and update health and safety policies, procedures, and manuals, and establish safety standards.
Training and Education: Organise training sessions on safety procedures and emergency response, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, inductions, and onboarding. Ensure job descriptions are accurate and compliant with regulations.
Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, resolve workplace conflicts, and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs, support employee growth through performance management and career development.
Compensation and Benefits: Design competitive compensation strategies, oversee employee benefits programs, and ensure compliance.
Compliance and Policy Management: Ensure adherence to labour legislation, maintain and update HR policies and procedures.
What you will need to succeed
Great attention to detail and be able to think fast on your feet
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Hands-on approach
Understanding of safety standards and regulations and human resources
