Your new company


Our client is a Local Government Organisation, currently experiencing an increased work load. They require an experienced Workers Compensation officer to join their team on a contract basis.

Your new role


As the Workers Compensation Claims Officer, you will be working in a collaborative team environment to build positive relationships across the organisation. You will manage a variety of worker's compensation claims, with varying levels of complexity from beginning to end.

Alongside this you will:



  • Assess and manage workers' compensation statutory claims in accordance to best-practice standards, including the assessment of entitlements.



  • Assist clients to develop strategies to manage workers' compensation liabilities and to improve their workers' compensation performance.



  • Co-ordinate claims management with rehabilitation personnel to achieve early and sustainable return to work and develop and maintain rehabilitation and return to work plans



  • Maintain compliance with systems and procedures for workers' compensation



  • Provide ongoing education and information in relation to workers' compensation



What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have prior experience deciding and managing claims in an insurer or self-insurer environment, including working knowledge and· strong customer service skills. understanding of Qld Workers' Compensation and other relevant legislation, relating to administration and management of statutory claims.
You must also be able to build strong stakeholder relationships, manage a variety of claims and ensure best practice and compliance with regulations.
