About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading engineering / construction services companies who are a key supplier to the infrastructure projects as a Senior HSE and Q Lead / Coordinator. The primary purpose of the role is to drive the overall WHS, environment and quality strategy and programs across their sites in NSW. Reporting into operations, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all safety, environmental and quality programs are aligned to the overall integrated management strategic plan. 
More specifically this will include:
  • Lead, direct and be the business expert in Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Coach, influence and engage the workforce to understand WHS, environment and quality, and increase awareness and ownership
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain the integrated management system
  • Develop programs that improve the awareness and capability of the site around the identification of critical SHE hazards and risks
  • Ensure safety policies, processes and systems are updated in line with legislation to support the ongoing monitoring and reporting of safety performance.
  • Manage workplace incident investigation processes and where required liaise with external stakeholders.
  • Manage return to work process with the operations team
  • Report safety metrics to senior managers and the leadership team.  
About Success
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Safety and/or engineering or similar.
  • Working knowledge of Workplace, Health & Safety policies and legislation.
  • Proven experience in environmental systems, injury management and quality
  • Experience in conducting operational risk assessments.
  • Relevant experience in training and coaching at various levels of an organisation.
