About Them
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading brands that operates in a number of areas including manufacturing, healthcare and education as a SHE Manager. The primary purpose of the role is to develop, implement and evaluate the overall WHS strategy and programs across NSW sites and beyond.
About the Role
Reporting into the National SHE Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all the safety programs are aligned to the overall Health and Safety strategic plan, through the management of a small team of SHE Advisors.
More specifically this will include:
  • Drive positive safety outcomes by influencing and supporting frontline managers, leadership teams, employees and contractors through coaching and mentoring to enhance personal accountability for safety.
  • Lead, direct and be the business expert in Workplace Health and Safety and in the application of safety risk management practices, processes and tools in the workplace
  • Provide advice and consult with frontline managers on operational safety issues that allows them to own and implement safety outcomes for their workplaces
  • Ensure safety policies, processes and systems are updated in line with legislation to support the ongoing monitoring and reporting of safety performance.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities, identify opportunities and propose innovative approaches to complex and challenging SHE issues.

About Success
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent and relevant experience as a safety professional/manager in high risk industries
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety theory and practice including safety leadership across multi-site complex businesses
  • Working knowledge of Workplace, Health & Safety policies and legislation.
  • Experience in conducting operational risk assessments.
  • Relevant experience in training and coaching at various levels of an organisation.
  • Proven ability in building and leading a high performing teams
